Understanding Our Process

At Booth Custom Jewelers, you have two avenues to choose from when purchasing your diamond for the piece of jewelry we will create for you:

1. You can purchase it online, through a retailer of your choosing.

2. You can purchase it through our dealer.

Some people come to us already knowing what shape of diamond and approximate carat weight they want. Others are at square one when they come to us and still need to make these important decisions. The way the diamond search relates to our work on the ring mounting looks a bit different for these two client types.

For those who have settled on a diamond shape and carat weight:

We can begin working with you on the design for your mounting right away, based on your decisions about shape and carat weight. In the meantime, you can begin your diamond search. Once we have finished the mock-up of your mounting, we will give you a “not-to-exceed” estimate for the price of your mounting. If you would like to have an estimate for the mounting before you make the final decision on your diamond, you can wait until this point to make your purchase. However, you are free to purchase your diamond at whatever point in the process you feel comfortable.

For those starting at square one:

You will need to begin the diamond search process first, in order to decide what diamond shape and approximate carat weight you want. Once you have made these decisions, we can begin working on the design for your mounting. When we are finished, we will give you a “not-to-exceed” estimate for the price of your mounting. With a clearer overall picture in mind, you can then re-adjust some of the variables in your search process, if you desire. You are free to purchase your diamond at whatever point in the process you feel ready, though.
